What We Do

Primary Products

SCAW’s primary product is grinding media, which consists of mill balls. Mill balls are produced and supplied in a variety of sizes and specifications according to customer requirements, including high chrome and hammer forged balls. SCAW also produces cast steel products of various sizes and mill liner sheets.

Recycling of Used Grinding Media

SCAW recycles used grinding media. Other players in the steel industry are unable to recycle used grinding media due to the media’s chemical composition (chrome content). Only companies producing High Chrome (HC) grinding media and ferromanganese alloy castings can recycle grinding media. Local companies dealing in construction steel products are not equipped to recycle grinding media as the technology required to remove the alloys contained in used grinding media is costly.

Production and Sale of Industrial Gases

SCAW produces oxygen and acetylene both for its own internal consumption at the factory and for sale to the mines and other business users.

Pattern Shop

SCAW has a well-equipped Pattern Making and Machine Shop with skilled technicians. The services of this facility are available to our clients and other businesses.
