As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, SCAW Limited fully sponsors SCAW Rangers football club, thereby bringing about a positive impact on youths by helping to keep them busy in constructive activities. Scaw sponsorship consists of providing football kits, ground maintenance of the official home football ground, and meeting logistics and accommodation requirements for all matches played by the team.
SCAW Rangers has been in existence for over 20 years now. The football club was revamped in 2011 under new Management as a social football club comprising of employees. As its performance steadily improved, the club opened up to players from the entire Copperbelt province and later registered under Copperbelt Amateur Football Association. The club slowly rose in ranks, eventually winning the CAFA league in the 2018 to 2019 football season and subsequently getting promoted to Division 4. After engaging a new head coach, the team made further strides and won the Division 4 league of 2019 to 2020 season and got promoted to Division 3.
SCAW Rangers comprises of 30 players, a head coach, 2 assistant coaches and one medical personnel. All team members are on volunteer basis and are only given an allowance. A Scaw Lead Executive manages the team’s administrative tasks and logistics.
SCAW Rangers vision is to enter the Zambian Premier League and maintain a strong position on the Zambian football scene.
