SCAW is a foundry business which was established in 1960 and was originally owned by Anglo-American Corporation. In the early 1980s it became a subsidiary of the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM). In 1998, the company was re-privatized and it is currently owned by private investors who work closely with a Management team of professionals.
The company is one of the largest foundries in Zambia with a work force of 500+ employees. It has a production capacity of 30,000 tons of cast grinding media, 18,000 tons of forged balls, 12,000 tons of mill balls and 1,800 tons of other castings per annum.
