SCAW has earned itself a reputable name in the mining sector as one of the best manufacturers of mill balls which last longer per ton of ore milled. With the massive investments that have taken place since its privatization, SCAW now manufactures high chrome mill balls in sizes ranging from 25mm to 100mm diameter, all of which meet rigorous international quality standards.
Moreover, SCAW produces Hammer Forged balls of 100mm and 125mm diameter which meet international standards. Recently, a technical evaluation of the 125mm forged ball was carried out by Mintek, SA, which concluded that the SCAW 125mm hammer forged ball exhibited significant superior technical properties to that of imported mill balls of a similar nature.
SCAW also produces various grades of steel, iron, manganese and high alloy castings as well as various types of liners which are used in the mining and other related industries. The castings are also produced in white, grey cast iron, alloy cast iron & cast steel, including manganese and heat resistant castings up to 3.5 MT single pieces. The company also produces high quality industrial gases such as Oxygen and Acetylene to support the mining industry.
